Company Women Hold Conference for IWD
Female-only, business-networking group Company Women staged an extra special event to celebrate International Women’s Day (IWD) on the Costa Blanca.
The Company Women Conference and Luncheon sponsored by Pocket Pages, took place on Thursday 6th March 2008, at the beautiful Bahia Costa venue, near Torrevieja.
“What Marvellous Women Do Away from Home” was the theme of the conference, focusing on women’s achievements when they set up businesses abroad.
One of the keynote speakers who flew in for the event was, Kerrie Keeling, MD of A Woman’s Touch, BT Female Entrepreneur of the Year 2007and NatWest Business Woman of the Year 2006. Kerrie is changing the face of the building industry with her (almost) all female team of plasterers, plumbers, electricians and interior designers. Satisfied customers include celebrity chef Gordon Ramsey and Sir Richard Branson. Based in the UK, A Woman’s Touch has recently launched on the Costa del Sol with plans to expand to Costa Blanca very soon.
Also jetting in is American Terri Wiltshire who runs her own corporate role-play business, Terri Wiltshire & Associates. A trained actor and experienced director, Terri landed the high profile role of NBC Newsreader in the USA and went on to write, research and present her own 30-minute primetime TV programme about the Arts. She has spoken at over 48 international conferences, published six children’s books, sold three screenplays (one to Disney), sold the film rights to her first novel and lectured in Business Skills, Communication and Media.
Other speakers included Bedfordshire Business Women of the Year 2001, Company Women member and Founder of Touchstone Solutions, Lorraine Pearce along with The Company Woman of the Year 2007, language teacher and stand-up artist, Jane Cronin.
Conference organiser Caroline Garrett, from Spice Marketing & PR commented, “What a wonderful day! I knew the speakers would be more than marvellous and they were certainly that!"
